July 6, 2010 - holidays

Almost finished. Just need to put the plants in, finish two stairs and done.
The white paint is from one of the houses and will be sandblasted off before the lawn goes down.

July 4, 2010 - holidays

Ella made cupcakes!

The sun was shining so went outside and started again. Re-leveled and started laying stone.
These big blocks of sandstone were salvaged from a a couple of the oldest houses here in Coro Valley that were knocked down recently.

Alex my uncle came up and gave us a hand. Thanks mate.

Back wall under the house.

Where the stairs will be.

July 3, 2010 - holidays

Nice visit from Amity and Adrian. Sat by the heater for a minute. The dog was happy.

July 1, 2010 - holidays

The floor after a day. It takes so long the spread the glue and then cut the ends to get the stagger right.

Also finished the top hallway. Still have to finish off all the edges with a bead.

After a whole day. My knees hurt.

June 29, 2010 - holidays

I got all the levels right and layed in a few stones only for it to pour down all night and half the day and stuff all the work from the previous day so I went inside and started the floor while it dried out.

Ella helping move furniture and vac the floor.

First long run of boards from the hallway through to the lounge.

June 28, 2010 - holidays

Created a path which was pulling a load of rock and bushes out and sloping the path. Hard work with the clay soil.

And another big trench for the base rock to sit in.

June 27, 2010 - holidays

I took some holiday to get through some of the bigger things that couldn't be done over a weekend. My holiday fell right in the middle of the football world cup and Triple J imposible music festival so it happened to be great timing. The floors had to be sealed so I did the first so I could work on the landscaping while it was drying.

Footings and levels for retaining walls.

June 15, 2010

The bamboo flooring, This took all weekend but I think I finally have the hang of it. Great work to Jaime for all the help.

Kitchen all done.

June 13, 2010

Self levelling compound inbetween the concrete and wood areas. Getting ready for the Bamboo flooring to go down.

1 ton of bamboo flooring - what a struggle to get it all upstairs. We are tackling this ourselves which should be fun as either of us have ever done it before.

'Mack' my outdoor heater and my dog Harley loving the warmth. It has been really cold here lately and this is the only heating we have in the house. We have been spending most of our time out here at the moment as we have moved in and still have no internal heating.

June 7, 2010

The kitchen with sink and stainless benchtops. The sink benchtop flows outside the window as a breakfast bar.

June 1, 2010

The deck after being cleaned. 1 more coat of oil to go.

May 31, 2010

My great ebay find. Bought these Agave's off ebay and bid on 15 mature plants. With no picture I didn't know what to expect. I ended up with slightly a few more than expecting. There were about 10 plants on each of the 15. I will be building the dry stacked walls asap to get them in the ground.

That's a full sized trampoline there all sitting on.

May 17, 2010

Kitchen started.

May 11, 2010

Big doors in and working.

Fascia panels on the side of the deck.

Screens all sent off for powercoating

May 7, 2010

Stairs are in. Kwila stringers with Yellow Balau treads.

May 6, 2010

The fence is up and just next to the tree there is a gate so we can let mum in occasionally.

The big middle doors are up.

The stairs have been started.

2 May, 2010

I cutdown the solid concrete pavers to create the polished concrete benchtops we wanted.
The vanities were made to hold the weight and now the sinks are on.

Little downstairs vanity.

Road-base smooth. Ella riding her bike.
