And that's it, 580 linier meters of decking done. I started on 2nd of January and worked on it almost every night since then. The wood is yellow belau from PNG and as you can see, has lots of variation in colour. Can't wait to see it down.
The front windows are in.
Front the lounge / kitchen / dining at sunset, with decking in the foreground. It never ends.
Bathroom window in.
Backroom window in.
Looking down the deck walkway from the front door to the back of the house.
Finished for the night. Decking with oil at 1am
The house under lights at 1am.
Front Deck from Front door has started and some more cladding.
Rear cladding coming together... and the rear neighbours are complaining. He leant over the feance and abused the contractors while they were putting it up. This is about 7-8 meters off the boundry. Some people love complaining. Imagine if we made it all silver zinc?
The nightmare of my life at the moment, the decking.
The cladding has started. Looking awesome. This is zinc up high above the windows facing inwards of the block. Love how it looks against the black.
The roof also has edge capping on which finishes it off nicely. Makes the roof look really thin.
All the sections of the house that are facing our neighbours are a green / grey colour to try and blend the house into the surrounding trees. For our side neighbours the colour will be great as a backdrop for their beautiful gardens. We will have to run some screens and plant some trees in this open are as this is where the washing line and a few utilities will be.
From my mothers house side.
The roof from the bedroom. Just need the gutters.
Gutter installed on the back room.
With the builders on xmas break for a few weeks I got to and started doing all the exposed wood sections. These are 140x140 taun posts that will be holding the middle section up. The above pic is them finished and oiled and the below post shows what they are like after sanding (left) and oiled on right.
I am also doing the decking which is Yellow Belau. This have been sitting for a while so I have been sanding them back, Oiling them with a deep treat oil and then will apply a outside oil once layed. The above is after sanding. The below is how the were supplied.
